Fairfax County Park Authority welcomes leashed dogs in all parks. Owners and well-socialized canines may use Park Authority operated Dog Parks, designated fence-enclosed areas where unleashed dogs can enjoy free play.

The FCPA Dog Park Study was conducted to assess needs and priorities for dog parks throughout the county, and to adopt strategies for long-term planning, development, and management of dog parks.

Dog Daze 2021

Dog Daze returned on Sunday, September 12, 2021. This popular event, a dog-only swim at The Water Mine, was presented by the Fairfax County Park Authority in partnership with Hunter Mill District Supervisor and Park Foundation, with support from Weber’s Pet Store and Aquatic Paws. A suggested $10 donation to the Fairfax County Park Foundation helped your parks.
