After 2020's hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Park Authority’s Summer Entertainment Series returns! No one is happier to see it return than Westfields Business Owners Association (WBOA) president Bill Keech, Jr. He says the Starlight Cinema drive-in movie series in Centreville helps bring a sense of community to the area, and the WBOA prides itself on supporting the event through the Fairfax County Park Foundation. Sponsors like WBOA underwrite the expenses so the series may be enjoyed by attendees at no charge!

“I take great pride in Westfields, both the place and the people,” he said enthusiastically. “Westfields is home to is 35,000 people who work here. It’s a major employment center, and we need to do more to interact with the surrounding community.

Since 2017, the WBOA has provided financial support for the popular movie nights that feature free motion pictures that appeal to both children and adults. The organization has also supported park programs at nearby Cub Run Rec Center in Chantilly for the past decade.

“We enjoy giving back to our community in different areas by contributing to programs, food drives and partnerships with other organizations that promote healthy activity, like the Park Authority,” Keech said. “It’s woven into the fabric as part of what we do.”

Keech says partnerships and people are at the heart of the Westfields community, and events like the Starlight Cinema series bring the community together. It’s relationship building at its best and improves the quality of life for everyone.
